Mark E. Newsome
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Mark E. Newsome and his partners founded Interactive Technologies Group, Inc. (ITG) in 1996. Mr. Newsome holds an MBA from St. Ambrose University and a Bachelor's degree in accounting from North Carolina Central University. Additionally, he has completed additional graduate studies at Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business.
Mr. Newsome's extensive experience in management engineering began early in 1980 and includes 10 years at the Army Management Engineering College (AMEC) in Rock Island, Illinois. During his time at AMEC he was involved in training, applied research and consulting. Mr. Newsome was the designer of a revolutionary process and supporting software for conducting Management Engineering studies. The process (SPARRC) and the software are now a core part of ITG's J-Accomplish web-based software suite, making it possible for ITG to become an industry leader in such services as Manpower Requirements, Workforce Management, Productivity, Activity-Based Costing/Management, Organizational Redesign and Competitive Sourcing.
Mr. Newsome's business acumen and his passionate interest in management are instrumental to ITG's success. In 2004, the Small Business Administration honored Mr. Newsome by naming him as Iowa's Internet Based Small Business Champion. Mr. Newsome is a founding member of the DavenportOne Minority Business Council and is heavily involved in the community as member of the Boards of Directors of several organizations including the NewVentures Initiative, United Neighbors, Inc. and the Scott County Family YMCA.
James A. Tillman Jr.
Vice President, Management Engineering
Mr. James ("JT") Tillman provides strategic oversight and planning for large-scale Management Engineering studies. In addition, he develops study proposals and performs independent reviews, develops and instructs Management Engineering training courses and performs market analyses to promote automated study practices.
Mr. Tillman holds a Master of Science in Management Systems from the Florida Institute of Technology and a BS in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri-Rolla. His more than twenty-five years of Management Engineering experience includes working as an industrial engineer for a major farm machinery manufacturer, performing Management and Efficiency Studies at Headquarters Army Materiel Command and performing training, consulting and research in Management Engineering, Total Quality Management and Economic Analysis at the Army Management Engineering College (AMEC). From there, Mr. Tillman went on to start his own company, NewTech Business Solutions, Inc., which merged with ITG in 1998.
Mr. Tillman has near encyclopedic knowledge of Management Engineering, particularly in relation to Competitive Sourcing via OMB's Circular A-76. At ITG, he continues to design new tools for Management Engineering software and conduct consulting projects, as he has done in other organizations since 1986.
